Ashley Taylor Dawson is concerned his alter-ego, 'Hollyoaks' bad boy Darren Osborne, will return to gambling because he is dealing with so much grief
Ashley Taylor Dawson fears Darren Osborne will return to gambling.
The 30-year-old hunk - who plays the Channel 4 soap's bad boy - "wouldn't be surprised" if his alter-ego reverted back to his old ways and became a gambling addict again especially as he is grieving following the deaths of Riley Costello (Rob Norbury) and Rhys Ashworth (Andrew Moss).
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "Once a gambler always a gambler like any kind of addict, it's always there. If something comes up and maybe tempts him to do that then knowing Darren it wouldn't surprise me if got back into it."
"I think their deaths will have a massive effect on Darren. There is so much going on. Grief is one of those things which takes time to deal with.
"I think he's been bottling it up and I think at one point he will let it all out."
Darren was left devastated when Riley was accidentally shot dead by Simon Walker (Neil Newbon), while Rhys died when a mini van ploughed into him at the double wedding of Cindy Cunningham (Stephanie Waring) and Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), and Doug Carter (PJ Brennan) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).
While Ashley is concerned Darren could return to his gambling ways, he is pleased his character has wife Nancy Osborne (Jess Fox) to keep him "on the straight and narrow" as much as possible.
He added: "I don't think thee is anyone who can keep Darren on the straight and narrow. I guess that's why him and Nancy work so well together because she keeps him on the straight and narrow as much as they can.
"She's very level-headed and sensible which is why they work so well together as a team. But there's only so much you can do, so we'll see."
