Coronation Street's Eva to sabotage Leanne's wedding
Coronation Street's Eva Price sets out to ruin her sister Leanne Battersby's wedding to Nick Tilsley by getting her "completely plastered" on her hen night in the hope she doesn't wake up in time for her nuptials.
Coronation Street's Eva Price will attempt to sabotage Leanne Battersby's wedding.
The scheming blonde - who is portrayed by Catherine Tyldesley - sets out to wreck her sister's forthcoming marriage to Nick Tilsley (Ben Price) by getting Leanne "completely plastered" on her hen night in the hope she might sleep through her alarm.
Catherine said: "The hen night is hilarious. Eva basically gets Leanne completely plastered in the hope she won't get up in the morning.
"Not that we get to drink any real alcohol during filming. Eva is supposed to be on the white wine so I am actually drinking apple juice mixed with water."
Catherine says Leanne's nuptials will be "carnage" and the 29-year-old star knew there would be trouble as soon as Eva was asked to be a bridesmaid.
She explained: "Eva is going to make sure things don't go smoothly.
"As soon as I read in the script that Leanne was going to ask Eva to be a bridesmaid I thought, 'Oh Leanne, what are you doing? It's going to be carnage.' "
Eva also attempts to outdo her sister - played by Jane Danson - in the fashion stakes on her big day by wearing a "very over the top" gown in the style of a typical 'Strictly Come Dancing' costume.
She is quoted by the Daily Star newspaper as saying: "Eva's bridesmaid's dress is very 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
"Basically, as soon as she hears she's going to be a bridesmaid she's like: 'I will out-dress the bride.'
"It's very over the top. Filming the wedding was great fun.
"We were shooting it on location and a lot of the cast were there, so everyone got really excited.
"Bless the director, he was like a headmaster on a school trip, trying to control us."
