The Only Way Is Essex Live confuses viewers
Fans of 'The Only Way Is Essex' took to twitter to bemoan the chaotic live episode last night (03.12.12).
Fans were left unimpressed by 'The Only Way Is Essex' Live.
The hit ITV2 show's live action gamble rendered viewers "speechless" last night (03.12.12) after on-stage performances at James 'Arg' Argent's charity talent show switched to awkward backstage set-ups with no warning and cast members were cut-off mid sentence or interrupted by crew members.
Radio DJ Chris Moyles tweeted: "9:59pm: I never ever watch Towie but Towie Live.. I gotta watch this. 10:16pm: I'm speechless...(sic)"
'Coronation Street' actress Brooke Vincent added: '#TOWIElive is making me laugh!!! I'm truly speechless... ."
The action - staged in front of a live audience - kicked off with a pants-clad Arg looking for his trousers backstage, swearing as he stumbled around.
The camera then switched to Joey Essex asking his cousin Chloe Sims for advice on how to propose to Sam Faiers, before cutting to a strange skit involving Carol Wright and a wicker basket.
Meanwhile, a confrontation between Arg and his former flame Lydia Bright was barely heard over the commotion on stage and during a backstage scene featuring Mario Falcone, Joey and Tom Pearce, a crew member was heard telling them to "perform".
Former cast member Maria Fowler posted: "What the hell is this towie live? Only just switched it on? (sic)"
Twitter user @charbaldwin wrote: "Sorry if your a fan but that towie live was shocking! (sic)"
Nevertheless, standout performances on the night included Charlie King dancing to J.Lo and Kirk Norcross showcasing a surprisingly good singing voice, while juicy romantic gossip came in the form of Kirk admitting he had slept with his ex-girlfriend Lauren Pope.
Viewers were left uncertain whether Joey was about to break-up with Sam or propose to her after an emotional chat as he got up to leave, saying: "I can't relax. It's stressing me out Sam... I need to go outside. I can't do this anymore."
Bemused Myleene Klass summed up her feelings on twitter: "Have I drunk too much or not enough? #towielive."
