'X Factor' bosses thought Christopher Maloney's success was down to a regional vote, but figures show he is being supported throughout the country
Christopher Maloney's 'X Factor' votes have stunned producers.
The controversial hopeful's success in the competition has bosses mystified as they originally thought he must've been given a boost by the regional Liverpool vote, but official figures show he is gaining support throughout the country.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "It's like nothing we've ever seen.
"When Irish singer Mary Byrne was on the show, the Irish vote was keeping her in. But with Christopher, everyone is voting for him."
The figures mean producers are no longer upset about the possibility of Christopher winning as they think they prove he could be a success.
The source added: "It's not the end of the world if he wins because it will be what the public wants and we're sure James will get a deal and keep the show's credibility intact."
Christopher himself is hoping to win - so he could splash out on a new kitchen for his beloved grandmother Pat.
He told BANG Showbiz: "If I win I'm going to buy my nan a new kitchen as hers is falling apart!"
