Creative Scotland has announced that Andrew Dixon will step down from his position as chief executive. Dixon’s resignation follows a period of increasing concern from the arts community over the competence of the recently restructured national funding body.
In a statement, Creative Scotland say the resignation makes way for a new head to lead the organisation through ‘an important period of change.’ Dixon will leave his post in January following a handover.
Andrew Dixon said of his departure: ‘I now feel the time is right for a change of direction for both myself and the organisation’.
A new chief executive will be appointed in 2013 with the Senior Management Team reporting directly to Sir Sandy Crombie as Chair of the Board in the meantime.
