Christopher Maloney was sick before show
'X Factor' hopeful Christopher Maloney was advised by doctors not to perform at the weekend after he was struck down with a sickness bug
Christopher Maloney was told by doctors not to perform on 'The X Factor' at the weekend.
The 34-year-old hopeful had contracted a virus and despite being sick just seconds before he was due on stage, he still got up to perform his second song, Michael Buble's 'Haven't Met You Yet' - and was sick again immediately afterwards.
A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Chris was very ill but is a real trouper and went ahead. He didn't want anything to get in the way of making the final. The doctor ruled out food poisoning - it might be the winter vomiting bug. He was in a really bad way."
Christopher is thrilled to have landed a place in the final alongside Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur.
Following Union J's elimination last night (02.12.12), he tweeted: "we did it! we did it! we did it! get in. I love you so much! here's to finals. love u so much I really am overwhelmed xx THANK YOU THANK YOU (sic)"
And he will now return to his hometown of Liverpool with mentor Gary Barlow for a performance tomorrow (04.12.12).
He revealed on Twitter: "my homecoming I'll be at Mersey ferries at 9.30am on Tuesday come and see me, I'll also be performing with Gary Barlow at the empire at 7pm
"get your empire tickets free from the empire or radio city from 1pm tomorrow afternoon. xx can't wait to see you all. love you xx (sic)"
James and Jahmene will both also play homecoming shows tomorrow, with the former taking the stage at Middlesbrough Town Hall, and the latter turning on the Christmas lights and performing some tracks in Swindon.
