Queen of the Jungle Charlie Brooks set up the code word "fajitas" with her boyfriend Ben Hollington to talk to him when she was on the show

Charlie Brooks sent secret messages to her boyfriend on 'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'

The newly-crowned Queen of the Jungle - who narrowly beat Pussycat Dolls singer Ashley Roberts to the title on Saturday night (01.12.12) - used the code word "fajitas" to tell Ben Hollington how much she missed him when she was at her lowest in the Australian jungle.

The 'EastEnders' star memorably broke down crying in the Bush Telegraph, wailing: "I can't stop thinking about fajitas", but it wasn't the lack of food she was bemoaning.

Ben told confused ITV1 producers: "Every time Charlie mentioned the word fajitas, she was talking about me. It was really sweet and both of us were in on it.

"It's been tough being separated for so long. I've missed her like crazy and this was our idea of trying to bridge all those tens of thousands of miles that we were apart."

The couple have been dating for several months, but single mother Charlie had kept his identity under wraps before her stint on the show, explaining she was "dating someone", The Mirror newspaper reports.

After her win, the bubbly blonde had an emotional reunion with her Bournemouth-born beau and her seven-year-old daughter Kiki, who she says gave her the strength to carry on with the competition when they briefly spoke on the phone.

Charlie - who narrowly missed out on a reunion with Kiki after a "cruel" trial which saw them separated by a yellow door - revealed: "When I got to talk to Kiki, I thought I wasn't going to hold it together. My legs were shaking because there was so much I wanted to say. It was the boost I needed in the last couple of days.

"I was missing Kiki so much I wanted to go - but you take each day as it comes. I felt like I was quite boring, but you never know what people see on TV."
