Coronation Street's Kylie Platt's baby fears
Coronation Street's Kylie Platt doesn't want to have a baby with David Platt, despite him being keen to father a baby with the outspoken hairdresser.
Coronation Street's Kylie Platt can't "cope" with another baby.
The outspoken hairdresser - who is portrayed by Paula Lane - already has her son Max from a previous relationship but husband David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) is ready for a baby of their own, but instead of telling David that she wants to focus on her career Kylie carries on taking contraception to "save" their marriage and spare his feelings.
Paula said: "Perhaps David is now looking towards fatherhood because of all Kylie's attention is focused on work instead of him.
"She feels she's protecting her marriage by keeping [being on the pill] quiet. She doesn't know how she'd cope with another baby. But Kylie's really trying to keep David happy and not rock the boat. She's struggling to tell David the truth because he's pressuring her too much."
Despite having a rocky relationship since David returned from a Tenerife holiday in 2011 engaged to Kylie, Paula believes they are strong as a couple even if viewers and some characters think otherwise.
She added to Inside Soap magazine: "I think they're capable of getting through a lot. People are often against them and think their marriage won't last.
"There's been a lot of doubt about them as a couple, but they've never doubted themselves."
