Boy band Union J have become the latest act to be voted off 'The X Factor'.

The boyband - made up of Jaymi Hensley, Jamie 'JJ' Hamblett, George Shelley and Josh Cuthbert - lost out in a place in next week's final after receiving the least number of public votes.

Band member Josh Cuthbert said: "I'm so happy with how well we've done. We've got so much to thank 'The X Factor' for."

JJ also wished the three finalists well in the final stage of the competition, saying: "We want to wish the guys the best of luck."

The band's mentor Louis Walsh admitted he was sorry to see them leave but said he believes they have a strong future in music.

He said: "I'm a little disappointed but we were ready for it. They're going to be the next big boy band."

Before leaving the show, the four-piece performed a version of Taylor Swift's 'Love Story'.

The group failed to win over voters after performing Labrinth's 'Beneath Your Beautiful' and 'Already There' by Lonestar on Saturday night (01.12.12), after which judge Gary Barlow admitted he had "worries" they would be booted out tonight (02.12.12).

Their exit means James Arthur, Jahmene Douglas and Christopher Maloney are now set to compete in next weekend's grand final.

James - whose rendition of 'The Power of Love' saw him receive a standing ovation and was hailed by Gary Barlow as "the performance of the series" - was the first to find out he was through to next weekend's final and was jubilant as he shouted: 'Yes, come on, come on!'

Tonight's results show also saw judge Tulisa Contostavlos perform her new single 'Sight Of You'.

When asked how she felt after the performance, she said: "Terrifying. You enjoy it but it's still terrifying."

Pink also performed her new track 'Try'.
