Denise Van Outen wants TOWIE role
'The Only Way is Essex' narrator Denise Van Outen really wants to appear in the ITV2 reality show, but admits it might be "weird" if she did feature in an episode because she isn't related to any of the stars of the programme
Denise Van Outen is desperate to star in 'The Only Way is Essex'.
The narrator of the ITV2 reality show has asked producers on a number of occasions if she can make an appearance, and while she is disappointed at being turned down because she is not related to any of the stars of the programme, she admits it might be "weird" if she featured in an episode.
She exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "They won't let me be in 'The Only Way is Essex', you're not allowed to. Maybe when it's on its last episode they might let me appear somewhere in the background. But I doubt that will happen anytime soon, I think there is legs to it yet.
"I have always said I want to be in it somewhere but it's not really about me, it's more about their lives. I'm not actually related to anyone in the show so it would be a bit weird if I suddenly appeared in it."
While the 38-year-old star - who appeared alongside Jude Law, Ray Winstone, Sadie Frost and Rhys Ifans in mock gangster movie 'Love, Honour and Obey' in 2000 - is not able to star in the normal 'TOWIE' series, she is hopeful producers will ask her to narrate a film version of the reality show if such a project goes ahead.
She added: "Hopefully they ask me to narrate the start of the 'TOWIE' film if they do one, that would be great."
