Eric Bristow's family think ITV is unfairly editing the darts pro to look like the camp bully in 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'

Eric Bristow's family are "p****d off" with the way he is being portrayed on 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!'.

The darts legend's relatives claim he is being edited to look like the camp bully on the ITV1 show and they insist it is an "unfair" representation of him, especially after jokes Eric made about Helen Flanagan, 22, and her spotty skin looked like cruel taunts.

Eric's 19-year-old son James told The Sun newspaper: "I am really p****d off with the way Dad's been made to look. The edit's been totally unfair and I know his manager is talking to lawyers about it. The feeling was that things can't get any worse - otherwise we will go for ITV and cause them huge problems. I understand this is a TV show on for entertainment purposes - and Dad knew what he was getting himself into.

"But he's not a bully. He has a 21-year-old daughter himself, so would never be intentionally cruel to anyone else's. They've painted him as a real nasty piece of work at points, which is so unfair and frustrating to watch."

The 55-year-old star's management team insist ITV are beginning to take notice after viewers also tweeted their concern Eric's time in the Australian jungle is being unfairly edited.

His spokesperson Steve Mottershead said: "It confused people that they were portraying him as this bad guy and then others were coming out of the jungle saying he was a lovely fella."

Meanwhile, ITV bosses have also come under fire for playing a cruel stunt on Charlie Brooks, which saw her narrowly miss out on a reunion with her seven-year-old daughter Kiki when she chose the wrong door on Tuesday's (27.11.12) Door To Door challenge.

ITV tried to calm furious fans down, claiming: "Kiki was fine. She was happy to take part."
