Keith Richards once played a huge guitar solo to annoy Sir Mick Jagger.
The Rolling Stones bandmates' differing ideas about the group's direction led to friction between them in the 1980s, and at one concert Keith took his frustration out by taking a huge solo spot, leaving the singer with nothing to do.
Photographer Denis O'Regan, who photographed the band on their European tour of 1982, told BANG Showbiz: "You don't see them arguing but you see if one is clearly p***ed off with the other. Keith did get very angry at one point and decided to show how displeased he was about something by, when it came time to play his solo, going out on one of the catwalks which go out into the audience, and doing the longest solo of the tour.
"Meanwhile Mick had nothing to do except try and hold the audience and I think at that Keith realised it made it uneasy for him and that's how he vented it."
Denis added the differences between Keith and Mick's personalities was also apparent on the tour.
He added: "Mick is intriguing. I suppose, with Keith, its more what you see is what you get. When Keith gets annoyed you know, if Mick gets annoyed you don't know.
"With Mick, if something upsets him he has this philosophy of 'never complain, never explain'. He doesn't really get involved in messy decisions, whereas Keith would lose his rag."
