Simon Cowell's ex-girlfriend Sinitta has revealed 'The X Factor' maestro is planning to replace Gary Barlow on the final series of the show.

Simon Cowell wants to replace Gary Barlow on 'The X Factor' next year.

The music mogul is worried about his flagship singing competition and plans to return for the final series of the ITV1 show in 2013, but while his former flame Sinitta says he is a huge fan of Nicole Scherzinger and Tulisa Contostavlos, she revealed he wants to claim his head judge spot back from Gary.

She told The People newspaper: "Simon cancels Gary out, so sorry Gary. They both wrinkle their nose at certain things but Simon's instincts are sharper. Simon's the one who can spot the X Factor."

Sinitta is in regular contact with Simon - who is currently judging the second series of 'The X Factor' USA - and says he finds watching the show from America "frustrating" because he has no say on song choices or contestants, and is desperately worried the wrong people are going home after his favourite to win Ella Henderson's shock exit last weekend (18.11.12).

The former pop star explained: "He worries about the show and there is a lot for him to worry about at the moment. The wrong people are going. He finds it frustrating. He doesn't want the whole thing to fall apart.

"Simon was stunned about [Ella leaving], he couldn't believe it. It was crazy, a bit of a disaster."

Sinitta added that Simon is bracing himself for a 'dud' winner and will have to be very "creative" if Christopher Maloney or Rylan Clark were to win the show.

She said: "Simon is going to have to be very creative if Christopher wins. We worry that he will be like Michelle McManus - everyone voted for her to win 'Pop Idol' because people liked her personality but when the record came out, nobody bought it."
