Rylan Clark has hit back at Gary Barlow after he called the controversial 'X Factor' contestant "absolute s***e".
The Essex-born singer has been criticised by the Take That star throughout his stint on the ITV1 show for his vocal talent, but he has responded and said the programme is more about entertainment rather than having the perfect voice.
In a series of tweets, which have now been deleted, he wrote: "I'd rather be 'absolute s***' than just stand there and sing the same old stuff every week on the spot....... #boreme @GBarlowOfficial.
"And I entered the x factor.... NOT the voice..... Cheers...... (sic)"
Gary - who mentors the Over 28s category, which only has Christopher Maloney left in it - hit out at Rylan earlier this week at a Mencap concert.
He told the audience: "I'm serious. What are we going to do about Rylan?
"I might have to be honest on Saturday night and go, 'Rylan, I thought that was absolute s***e'."
Ella Henderson had been favourite to win 'The X Factor' for the majority of the competition, but she was voted off the show at the weekend after ending up in the bottom two with James Arthur.
