Scarlett Johansson stressed by Hitchcock shower scene
Scarlett Johansson was nervous about filming the classic 'Psycho' shower scene in her new biopic 'Hitchcock'.
Scarlett Johansson thought shooting the iconic 'Psycho' shower scene in 'Hitchcock' was "stressful".
The 27-year-old actress plays Janet Leigh in Sacha Gervasi's 'Hitchcock' - a biopic about the making of the legendary director's 1960 thriller 'Psycho' - and confessed she was anxious about filming nude until the crew put her at ease.
Scarlett said: "They had seven days to shoot that scene originally, we did it in one - so it was a little bit stressful. I have to say that I was happy not to be in the shower for seven days with the crew around.
"But everyone made it as comfortable as possible, Sacha Gervasi and the crew were very discreet and respectful. It was just about getting the work in, capturing the work and the performance. It was fine in the end, once you get the first take done your golden."
The blonde beauty took "pleasure" in bringing one of Alfred Hitchcock's favourite leading ladies to life, and devoured biographies about the late star and even talked to her daughter Jamie Lee Curtis in order to better understand her character.
Scarlett told Flicksandbits.com: "More than transforming into Janet Leigh, for me it was about capturing her essence. I didn't really try to mimic her, we're very different, but it was the process of being able to meet her through people that knew her, through her biographies, her work.
"It was a pleasure, she was beloved on-screen and off, she was a wonderful actress. It was nice to be able to have a character like that to invoke that every day."
