Asda reveal takeaway support for Jahmene Douglas
Asda has renamed one of their takeaways in honour of 'X Factor' contestant Jahmene Douglas
Jahmene Douglas' former employers Asda are rebranding a takeaway meal to support him.
The supermarket chain had changed the Chosen by you Chicken Chow Mein to a Chicken Jahmene, with each pack sold donating 23p towards Women's Aid - a domestic violence charity the 'X Factor' star has long championed.
Jackie Anderson, from the ready meal team at Asda, said: "We're so proud of Jahmene and all the incredible performances he does week in, week out on the 'X Factor' so we really want to get behind him and offer our support. Chicken Chow Mein is a weekend favourite and we hope that by re-naming it after him, we'll be able to raise lots of money for Women's Aid."
Asda has already featured in the show, with Jahmene's mentor Nicole Scherzinger going to visit the old supermarket he worked at in Swindon to see what he did, and even donning one of the store's uniforms.
The Chicken Jahmene will be available in Asda stores nationwide between Friday 16 and Sunday 18 November.
