The X Factor' has been sent into chaos after Jahmene Douglas refused to sing this week's group song, 'Last Friday Night', because it glorifies alcohol
Jahmene Douglas has sent 'The X Factor' into chaos after refusing to sing this week's group song.
Programme bosses had lined up Katy Perry's hit 'Last Friday Night' for the remaining contestants to open Sunday's (18.11.12) show but are now searching for another track after the former Asda worker stressed his refusal to perform songs that glorify drinking alcohol.
A source said: "Bosses are desperately trying to find a new song for this week's group ensemble after Jahmene's refusal.
"The six remaining acts were supposed to perform 'Last Friday Night' but Jahmene has said no. The song is about partying and drinking and Jahmene is teetotal.
"He has made it clear from the start that he won't sing songs about drinking and when he heard this track he was adamant he wouldn't perform it.
"Bosses have respected his wishes and it's all hands on deck to get a new song ready in time for Sunday."
Jahmene - who also insists he is accompanied by modestly-dressed dancers - has previously refused to even hold a glass of champagne on the show.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: "When all the contestants went out for Rylan Clark's birthday party he really didn't like it.
"Even at Judges' Houses, when he was given a glass of champagne to hold, he refused to even have it in his hand."
Lyrics to 'Last Friday Night' include 'There's a stranger in my bed, there's a pounding in my head' and 'Yeah we danced on tabletops and we drank too many shots.'
