Strictly's Craig: 'X Factor viewers have lost faith'
Craig Revel Horwood believes 'X Factor's audience has "lost faith" in the show, unlike 'Strictly Come Dancing's
Craig Revel Horwood thinks 'Strictly Come Dancing' doesn't try and deceive people like 'X Factor'.
The New Zealand-born judge thinks the ITV rival is too scripted and untrustworthy for many viewers, and he thinks that is why this year's 'Strictly' - starring Olympians Louis Smith and Victoria Pendleton and actress Denise Van Outen - has been more successful than ever.
He said: "With 'The X Factor' I think the audience has lost faith and trust in it so that's it's problem.
"'Strictly' is good, honest fun. We don't pull the wool over anyone's eyes.
"You want to be watching something real and dynamic and something you can trust and believe in. I think that is the biggest problem. The 'Strictly' judging panel is not scripted and they are."
Craig loves the contestants on 'Strictly' this year, particularly former 'Emmerdale' actress Lisa Riley who has suprised him with how good she is.
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "I love Lisa and not just because she is a brilliant dancer.
"She also has a fantastic personality and brings that to the floor. She doesn't care and is literally amazing to watch.
"I think she has justified an entire nation to love and respect dance and to say that big is bloody beautiful.
"You take one look at Lisa and you think she is going to be slightly heavy on the dance floor and she proved me completely wrong."
