Manic Street Preachers to pen wrestling theme
Manic Street Preachers have offered to create a theme song for WWE wrestler Wade Barrett after learning he is a big fan
Manic Street Preachers have offered to create a theme song for WWE wrestler Wade Barrett.
The fighter is known to be a fan of the band and even has a tattoo which reads 'Culture, Alienation, Boredom and Despair' - lyrics from the group's 1992 hit 'Little Baby Nothing' - so the 'Australia' hitmakers have offered to pen some music for him to use when entering the ring.
Frontman James Dean Bradfield told Q online: "Let's just put this out there - if you're listening Wade Barrett we will do your f**king theme tune - just get in touch.
"That would be the ultimate Situationist, bizarrest spectacle wouldn't it? Us being played over the airwaves in some enormodome in front of 20,000 mad Yanks in Colorado somewhere."
Wade then posted a link to the interview on his twitter page and admitted he was very excited by the offer.
He tweeted: "That last link was JDB from The Manic Street Preachers offering to record my theme song. Mind: Blown. (sic)"
The British-born wrestler - who joined the WWE in June 2010 - later revealed he has taken steps to make the collaboration happen.
He said: "I've let the guys in the WWE in the musical department know about it and they're going to get in touch with the Manics. So fingers crossed we'll get some new theme music in soon."
