Dominic Monaghan: 'Wild Things was like a holiday'
Dominic Monaghan's new TV programme 'Wild Things' is just like one of his own holidays
Dominic Monaghan's new show mirrors his own holidays.
The former 'Lost' actor stars in new documentary series 'Wild Things' which sees him travel the globe to find - and handle - some of the scariest creatures on the planet and Dominic admitted the idea came from his own life.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "'Wild Things' is essentially the way that I holiday. I'll think about an animal I want to see and then travel to that territory and get to know the locals and find out the best way to see it without being too intrusive.
"I'm obsessed with the natural world and I want to try to change perceptions of certain creatures so we focused on centipedes, scorpions, snakes and spiders."
While Dominic loved working on the eight part series, he revealed he plans to go even bigger and better if the show gets commissioned for a second run.
He added: "We end series one with me looking for one of only two venomous lizards in the world so we would probably focus more on reptiles in the second series.
"However, I'd love to focus on polar bears, gorillas, great white sharks etc, the type of animals that make people go 'oh s**t".
'Wild Things' airs Friday (09.11.12) at 8pm on Channel 5.
