Lucy Spraggan leaves The X Factor
Lucy Spraggan has left 'The X Factor', after having been ill for two weeks of the show
Lucy Spraggan has left 'The X Factor'.
The singer did not perform last saturday (27.10.12) due to illness, and was automatically put through to tonight's (03.11.12) show, but after missing rehearsals this week, has decided she is not well enough to continue.
A post on 'The X Factor's' official Facebook page said: "Lucy isn't well enough to perform this weekend so she has decided to withdraw from the competition. We are all sorry to see her go and wish her all the best for the future. She has been a fantastic contestant."
Lucy said in a statement: "I am gutted not to be able to continue on the journey, but I'm not well enough to perform. To accept another free pass having missed last weekend would not be fair on the others in the competition. I wish them all well. I would like to express my thanks to everyone who has supported me.
"There is no way this setback will prevent me from fulfilling my ambition. You'll be hearing from me again very soon."
A source close to the show said it will go on as normal and no one will be brought in to replace lucy, with one of the remaining contestants leaving the competition this weekend.
'Beer Fear' singer Lucy's mentor Tulisa, is also upset to see her contestant leave, saying: "I'm so sorry to lose Lucy from the competition, I have had a brilliant time working with her and I hope I can continue to mentor her in the future. I now count her as a friend as she is an amazing girl."
'The X Factor' will return to screens tonight (03.11.12) on ITV1.
