Simon Cowell wants original X Factor panel back
Simon Cowell reportedly wants to bring original judge Sharon Osbourne back to star on 'The X Factor' alongside him and Louis Walsh
Simon Cowell wants to bring the original judges back to 'The X Factor'.
The TV mogul reportedly wants to return the show to where it started in 2004 with a three person panel consisting of himself, Louis Walsh - the only remaining original judge - and Sharon Osbourne.
He's also said to be keen to get Dannii Minogue - who was on the show between 2007 and 2010 - back on board.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The first three series relied solely on genuine British talent and a chemistry between the judges that simply hasn't been there since Sharon left. By series three they had produced an international star with Leona Lewis and the show had real credibility.
"Now it's just a circus freak show with the ringmaster trying to pull the strings on the other side of the Atlantic.
"If Simon can get the original judges and format back he will truly have pulled victory from the jaws of defeat."
Getting all four judges together could prove difficult, as Dannii and Sharon have still not made up after falling out on the prorgamme, with the former also still upset about revelations she had an affair with Simon while they were worked together.
Another ex-judge, Cheryl Cole is also said to be in with a chance of returning, after she made up with Simon, 53, for axing her from the US edition of the show.
The current judging panel is led by Gary Barlow, who is joined by Louis, Nicole Sherzinger and Tulisa.
Meanwhile, today (03.11.12), could see the fate of current contestant Lucy Spraggan decided, as she has been given until the last minute to decide if she will perform and continue on the show.
Lucy has been written off ill and automatically given grace to go through to this week's show after not performing last Saturday (27.10.12), and bosses are leaving the decision as to if she will appear tonight entirely in her hands.
A source said: "We will keep rehearsal time open right up until the end. It's completely up to her what she decides to do."
