Cheryl Cole to front chat show
Sky1 are close to signing up Cheryl Cole to host her own chat show and think she could become the British Oprah Winfrey
Cheryl Cole is set to host her own chat show.
The 'Call My Name' singer is poised to become to the next Oprah Winfrey after negotiating a lucrative deal with Sky1 to helm a new "emotional and confessional" talk show.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Sky1 are desperate to get Cheryl to sign up. They've been in talks for a while and believe they will have wrapped up the deal within the next month.
"They think she could be the UK's Oprah because of her reputation as the nation's sweetheart and are willing to pay big bucks to get her on board. They want the show to be emotional and confessional, not just another run-of-the-mill celebrity show."
Cheryl has avoided TV work since she was axed by Simon Cowell from her role judging the US 'X Factor' in 2011, and turned down an alleged £1 million offer to return to the UK version of the show.
Her management - including close friend will.i.am - are reportedly desperate for the Girls Aloud star to give television another go so she can show off her compassionate personality.
The insider added: "Cheryl's people think she would come across brilliantly. On 'X Factor' she found it easy to connect with people and viewers loved her for it."
