EastEnders' Phaldut Sharma has described his co-star Himesh Patel as an "old soul trapped in a young body".
The actor - who plays black sheep of the Masood family AJ Ahmed - has shared his admiration for fellow actor Himesh and admits that by watching him portray the character Tamwar he has learnt a lot.
Phaldut said: "I've definitely been learning a lot from Himesh Patel since I arrived at 'EastEnders'. He's wise beyond his years - he's like an old soul trapped in a young person's body!
"I'm really enjoying being around him on set."
After joining the BBC soap in July as Zainab's spontaneous and irresponsible brother-in-law Phaldut also revealed that he was star-struck when meeting first meeting Walford's bad boy Phil Mitchell, played by Steve McFadden.
Phaldut added to InsideSoap: "The first day I turned up on the set, I was most in awe of Steve McFadden. He's probably the main person I've worked with who represents the show in such a big way.
"Acting alongside him made me realize that I'm definitely in 'EastEnders'!"
