Rylan Clark is planning a 'TOWIE' style makeover for his 'X Factor' mentor Nicole Scherzinger and worries she is "turning into" him

Rylan Clark is taking Nicole Scherzinger for an Essex-style makeover.

The outspoken 'X Factor' contestant is whisking his mentor Nicole off to his hometown today (31.10.12) for a visit to former 'The Only Way Is Essex' star Amy Childs' beauty salon and treating her to the works - tanning, hair and vajazzling.

Speaking at the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women of the Year Awards 2012 with VO5 on Tuesday night (30.10.12), Rylan told BANG Showbiz "Nicole is just spending too much time with me, she's turning into me! I'm taking her to Essex tomorrow for a makeover.

"I'm taking her to Amy's salon and back to my house. I might take her into Sugar Hut for a little browse about!"

Rylan and Amy have grown close, sparking rumours the glamour-mad singer could jump ship to the ITV2 soap, but he insists he is putting all his effort into singing before he considers any acting work.

Rylan explained: "There's a lot of rumours flying around about 'TOWIE' at the moment. At the moment I'm on ' X Factor', I really want to concentrate on music.

"That's what I really want to do, I want to prove to people that I actually want to be a serious singer... but if that don't work out I'll look at other avenues at what's offered to me. I'd never turn anything down!"

Should the controversial fan-favourite win in the competition, he is likely to be crooning along to a charity single as Simon Cowell is busy negotiating a deal whereby all proceeds from the winner's song will go to charity - for the first time ever.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "We do a charity record every year but the current thinking is we should just make that the winner's single. It would make loads of cash for charity and it will bring festive cheer back to the Christmas No1."

The winner's single will be released on December 16.
