Louis Smith 'flirts' with Strictly judges
Olympian Louis Smith loves "flirting" with the judges on 'Strictly Come Dancing' as it puts him in a good mood
Louis Smith loves "flirting" with the 'Strictly Come Dancing' judges.
The Olympian - who is partnered by professional dancer Flavia Cacace on the BBC One talent show - enjoys joking around with panellists Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman and admits it feels as though his hard work is being rewarded when they give him positive comments.
He said: "First it was Darcey, then it was Len and now Bruno! It's fun! It's nice to be rewarded with nice comments, especially if you've been working so hard on a routine. Whether it's nice comments or flirting; as long as it puts me in a happy mood, I don't mind!"
Louis says he always prepares himself for negative comments from the show's judging panel - which is completed by Craig Revel Horwood, who is known for his brutally honest comments - but insists he doesn't get "annoyed" by their criticism because it helps him improve as a dancer in the long run.
He added to new! magazine: "They just judge what they see on the night. Len loved my 'Puppy Love' waltz but then the next week, he wasn't really feeling it. There's no bias involved.
"I always prepare myself for the worst. So when you do get nice comments, it's great.
"The way I see it, it's like getting outside help. The judges aren't doing it to make you feel bad or look silly - they're telling you how you can improve your performance, so it would be silly to get annoyed. I'm not a professional dancer and my dances aren't perfect."
