Leona Lewis: 'X Factor was a life test'
Leona Lewis believes 'The X Factor' is the most difficult thing she has ever taken part in because it's "really hard work"
Leona Lewis claims 'The X Factor' was the hardest thing she ever had to do.
The singer warbled her way to victory in 2006 and admits the pressure of the singing competition was so intense that she had to sing herself to sleep because she was so worried about forgetting her lyrics on stage.
Leona explained: "It's really hard work when you're on the show. All day, every day you're constantly doing something - interviews, photo shoots, stuff like that. And you're practicing a lot too.
"Usually I'd spend a couple of hours a day just going through songs. And personally, I like to sing songs just before I go to bed if I want to learn lyrics. If I say it over three times before I go to sleep, I usually remember it."
Leona revealed she considered quitting when the competition heated up and she only got through it thanks to her father's constant support.
She said: "I turned to my Dad when things got hard on the show, as he's good at guiding me and helping me make decisions.
"The best bit of advice he gave me was to be true to myself and do what feels natural. Go with instinct."
