Massive Attack's Del Naja to play Day Zero festival
Massive Attack's Robert '3D' Del Naja will perforrm alongside UNKLE's James Lavelle at the Day Zero music festival in Mexico on December 20-21.
Massive Attack's Robert '3D' Del Naja will perform an exclusive set at the Day Zero music festival in Mexico on December 20-21.
Robert will be joined by UNKLE's James Lavelle for the performance which will include live recreations and re-edits of Massive Attack's music in Playa del Carmen, at the event to celebrate the first time in 25,625 years the earth will align with the centre of the Milky Way, according to the ancient Mayan civilisation.
Other acts to play at the 24 hour festival include Totally Enormous Extinct, Hot Creations legend Jamie Jones, Trentemøller and Crosstown Rebels.
Crosstown Rebels founder Damian Lazarus said: "This is a phenomenal moment in time and there is no way we could let it pass without hosting an amazing and unforgettable celebration. It's going to be a moment that our generation can latch on to that actually feels credible, poignant and special."
Subb-an, Metrika, Acid Pauli, Francesca Lombardo, Amirali, Fur Coat, Matias Aguayo and Maayan Nidam are also on the line-up
The music event - which will take place on a site between two lakes in Playa del Carmen, the centre of Mayan civilisation - will also host a broad selection of alternative performances, workshops, games from Mayan Culture, and 3D visuals and projections as partygoers count down to the climax at 11 minutes past 6pm on December 21.
