Old Firm fans to reveal all in the name of art
- 4 September 2007
A photographer is looking to create another iconic image featuring Celtic and Rangers fans, 30 years after he captured a famous riot scene during an Old Firm clash at Hampden.
This time round however Alistair Devine is looking for supporters to strip naked for the Hampden pitch picture, with only football scarves strategically placed to protect their modesty.
He wants hundreds of fans “of any size or shape” to help raise awareness of anti-sectarianism later this month.
A similar project was organised last year, in which 30 volunteers were pictured naked in a bar in Glasgow’s west end.
Mr Devine said of his latest project: “Following on from the iconic image I captured in 1980 which highlighted all that is bad about the game and portrayed Scotland in a negative light, I am now going to capture what will be an iconic image of serious relevance to where Scotland as a country and a footballing nation is today.”
