'Emmerdale' is adding four new characters.
The ITV soap is welcoming wild woman Vanessa Woodfield - a college friend of Rhona Goskirk - suave and charismatic Steve Harland, lover of Bernice Thomas, and mechanic Dominic Andrews with his wayward teenage daughter, Gemma.
With loudmouth Vanessa's arrival the vet's surgery isn't likely to ever be the same again, with Rhona's husband Paddy taking an instant dislike to her.
Michelle Hardwick, who plays her, said: "As a local girl and a fan of the show, 'Emmerdale' is my dream job.
"After only two days I am starting to feel at home already and Vanessa is such a fun character I can't wait to see what's in store for her."
Tom Mannion plays Steve Harland, and although he's smitten with
Bernice's energy and spontaneity, these qualities could also cause problems for them further down the line.
Tom said: "I'm really looking forward to the adventure that is 'Emmerdale'."
Dominic, embodied by Wil Johnson, and Gemma, played by 14-year-old Tendai Rinomhota, are both new faces in the village and Dominic is still finding his feet as a single father.
Wil - who previously played DCI Spencer Jordan in BBC drama Waking the Dead - said: "I can't wait to get started. I am looking forward to an exciting journey. I've been told anything could happen with my character."
Michelle and Tom have already filmed their first scenes, whilst Wil and Tendai are due to begin filming in the next few weeks.
