Jennifer Hudson hated being skinny for 'The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete'.
The former 'American Idol' star had to slim down to 138lbs for her part in the drama movie but admitted she gorged for a week to get back to 155, the weight she is happiest at.
She told InTouch magazine: "I was shooting a film where I had to lose around 10lbs. I was like 'I don't know if that's necessary'. Afterwards I spent a week eating it back up to this weight."
However, once Jennifer reached her ideal weight, she quickly went back to eating healthy.
She said: "I gave the rest of the chocolate away. I was like, 'OK I'm there now. It's time to stop."
Earlier this year, Jennifer - whose weight has fluctuated over the years - unveiled her clothing line and said she hopes it will appeal to women of all sizes and ages.
She said: "I'm nervous and excited at the same time! I hope the public embraces my line ... it's my baby.
"I've been on both sides of the fence. I've been a big girl and now whatever this is, the average size, whatever you want to call it."
