Robert Webb to serve up a 'dollop of comedy'
Robert Webb's new show 'Our Men' is a "drama with a dollop of comedy," which will once again see him team with David Mitchell
Robert Webb's new show is a "drama with a dollop of comedy."
The star reunites with his long term acting partner, David Mitchell, for new BBC political satire, 'Our Men', and while he says it won't be as hilarious as 'Peep Show' - the long running series he and David are best known for - there will still be laughs.
Speaking of the show, set in the fictional country of Kazbeckiztan, Robert said: "Well it's not like a serious, serious drama. It's like a drama with a dollop of comedy.
"David plays the new British ambassador to this country, while I'm the established deputy ambassador. Stories revolve around us promoting trade and negotiating deals, while meandering around human rights issues. It's not 'a drama, drama', it's a drama that's allowed to be funny."
Robert is already preparing himself for the inevitable comparisons with his previous work.
He added: "I'm already pre-empting those who'll say it's not as funny as 'Peep Show'. I can feel the frustration already. But it's not meant to be."
Robert is also part of new animated show 'Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh', voicing the main character and his friends, and gave a special reading at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London today (19.10.12).
He added: "I grew up enjoying Winnie the Pooh books and TV shows, and always particularly had a soft spot for Eeyore, and now my children absolutely love them, so I'm thrilled to be part of this show."
'Tales of Friendship with Winnie the Pooh' is on Disney Junior every day at 6:40pm.
