Matt Smith wants Peru-based Doctor Who
Matt Smith is keen to film a future episode of 'Doctor Who' in the South American nation of Peru because it would be "fun".
Matt Smith wants to film an episode of 'Doctor Who' in Peru.
The 29-year-old actor says one of the best things starring in the sci-fi show is that the Doctor's time-travelling adventures can take him anywhere in time and space and he admits his wish list includes a trip in the TARDIS to the South American country.
Matt told BANG Showbiz: "I was really pleased to go to New York, for me it's all about going to actual locations. I'd quite like to go back to America. I also think you could make quite a fun episode in Iceland or South America, or you could go to Peru. I'd like to film something in those places. The Pyramids would be fun, too, but I'd rather go to Peru."
The TV star got the bug for location shoots after filming 'The Angels Take Manhattan' in New York City, which saw the departure of the Time Lord's companions Amy Pond and Rory Williams (Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill).
Matt insist playing the Doctor is one of the best roles an actor can play because there are no limits on the emotions he can convey and the dramatic storylines he can be involved with.
Speaking at the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, Wales, he said: "I think the great thing about the Doctor is, if you can imagine the alphabet from A-Z and as a character in the space of three or four lines he gets to go from A-Z like that. If you look at any other drama you would have to justify it with some sort of dramatic reason, but the Doctor can skip from being really happy to really sad and that's OK. I think having that pallet as an actor is really exciting."
