Fan favourites to return to Skins
Hannah Murray (Cassie), Jack O'Connell (Cook) and Kaya Scodelario (Effy) will star in the final 'Skins' series in three separate stories
Hannah Murray, Jack O'Connell and Kaya Scodelario are set to return to 'Skins'.
The popular E4 show is bringing back three of its most memorable characters - Cassie, Cook and Effy respectively - for its final season which will see each troubled teen star in their own special two-part episode.
Now in their early twenties, the seventh season will see the fan favourites struggling to cope with their new lives in six double episodes entitled 'SKINS PURE' (Cassie), 'SKINS RISE' (Cook) and 'SKINS FIRE' (Effy).
Bryan Elsley, 'Skins' co-creator said: "I am delighted that three emblematic actors, currently embarking on successful movie careers are returning to E4 and 'Skins'. They will play their iconic characters as they emerge into adulthood, and bring new challenging stories of young adults, grappling with life in Cameron's Britain, to vivid and entertaining focus."
Sophie Gardiner, Commissioning Editor of Channel 4 Drama, added: "Always innovative, always truthful, 'Skins' is a show that defined a generation. That generation is growing up. 'Skins' seven catches up with our characters as they continue in their path to adulthood, finding out who they are going to be, and who their friends really are."
The new series is set to be as drama-filled as its predecessors and promises a tragic climax. Cassie's storyline sees the ditzy blonde feeling lonely in London, whereas Cook will become involved in a revenge plot after a drug deal goes wrong, and Effy will embark upon a disastrous affair with her boss.
Lily Loveless and Kat Prescott - who played lesbian lovers Naomi and Emily in series 3 and 4 - will guest star.
The seventh series begins filming in October and will be broadcast next spring on E4.
