Victoria Pendleton's fiance Scott Gardner says that his wife-to-be is not "emotional".
The 'Strictly Come Dancing' contestant has already wept on the show in the first week when she forgot the moves to her cha-cha, but Scott is adamant that people are getting the wrong impression.
He said: "It's frustrating because people only see the snapshots and think she is emotional.
"But they'll soon see the real Vicky and how light-hearted she is. when it comes to putting in a performance, she is exceptionally hard on herself."
The sports scientist met Vicky when he joined the British Cycling coaching team to prepare for the 2008 Beijing Olympics and insists that after training so hard over the last decade she is finding it hard to adjust to the new environment.
He added to The Daily Mirror newspaper: "When I see her starting to well up, I think, 'Come on Vic, please don't cry again, it's not you' but she felt she had let herself down.
"Her poor feet are suffering. They are sore because for the last 10 years she's hardly walked anywhere. She was either on the bike or resting her muscles.
"Now it's eight hours a day dancing around the room in high heels."
The Olympic cyclist managed to wow judges on Saturday (13.10.12) though and her Foxtrot with partner Brendan Cole kept her in the competition.
Johnny Ball was the first contestant to be voted off this season.
