Denise Van Outen recovered from whiplash to top the 'Strictly Come Dancing' leaderboard last night (13.10.12).

The 38-year-old actress and her professional partner James Jordan wowed the BBC One show's judges with their jive and scored 32 points, despite the blonde beauty suffering from "mild whiplash" during rehearsals earlier this week.

New judge Darcey Bussell told her: "Wowee, you got the style of the jive instantly. It was amazing."

Len Goodman added: "Tutti frutti what a booty! That was my cup of tea, it was so full on."

Craig Revel Horwood - who is renowned for his harsh comments - even described Denise's performance as "fabulous".

Denise said: "I can't feel the pain in my neck because of the adrenaline, but I'm sure I'll be in agony tomorrow."

Olympian Louis Smith and actress Dani Harmer also amazed with their respective partners, Flavia Cacace and Vincent Simone, managing total scores of 30 and 27, but former England cricket star Michael Vaughan failed to impress with his and Natalie Lowe's jive as the pair ended the night with just 15 points.

Bruno Tonioli said: "You were like a wild goose, you were thrashing about and I don't think I've ever seen such bad footwork."

Craig added: "You couldn't do it worse. That has to be one of the oddest jives I've ever witnessed in the ten series. Most of the time it looked like you were busting for a wee."

Lisa Riley and Robin Windsor - who received the highest score last week - wowed once again with their Viennese Waltz, picking up 25 points, and the former 'Emmerdale' actress has revealed cruel weight jibes have inspired her to impress on the show.

She told the Daily Mail newspaper: "The 'dagger' comments, as I call them, are the best incentive. The more people call me fat and ugly, the harder I'll work. It's like giving a car petrol, it just drives me on.

"Growing up, I wasn't the pretty one, I've never been that, but I've always been the confident one and that's got me where I am today."

'Strictly Come Dancing' continues tonight (14.10.12) on BBC One at 6.50pm.
