Amanda Holden: 'Simon Cowell would never sack me'
Amanda Holden says Simon Cowell thinks she is a key player on 'Britain's Got Talent' and would never fire her from the judging panel
Amanda Holden is confident Simon Cowell would never sack her from 'Britain's Got Talent'.
The 41-year-old star thinks she is a core part of the show and intends to stay on the judging panel for good, while hoping the ITV1 talent competition will outlast the 'X Factor' because it offers more variety.
Amanda told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I defy him to sack me! Someone said to me as long as 'BGT' is running Simon says I'm on it, which is lovely.
"I don't feel the show has had its day at all! I always get bulls*****d by the producers and Simon for saying it, but I think 'BGT' is a better show than 'X Factor'.
"Purely because it's got variety. More than ever people are thinking outside the box. It must be hard to be a judge on a show when there are only singers. I'd run out of things to say."
The judging panel was rocked by Simon and David Walliams' 'bromance' last year, but even though their jokes were completely unscripted, Amanda revealed the music mogul loved to edit the comedian's comments out of the final episodes when he got too rowdy.
Amanda said: "They genuinely get on. But if he doesn't like anything he does, he would edit it out - he's in control! If David says certain things, Simon makes an action with his fingers like scissors as if to say, 'That won't even make the show'.
"That's why, when it was live, it was funnier because obviously he had no control over that."
'Britain's Got Talent' returns in 2013.
