Stephen Mulhern confirmed to host Catchphrase
Stephen Mulhern has been confirmed as the host of a new series of 'Catchphrase' on ITV.
Stephen Mulhern is to present a revived series of 'Catchphrase'.
The 'Britain's Got More Talent' host fronted a pilot of the show earlier this summer, and ITV have decided to revive the programme, previously presented by Roy Walker.
More than 300 episodes were created between 1986 and 2002, with Roy hosting it from 1989 until its demise 10 years ago.
The format sees contestants attempt to work out well known catchphrases thanks to animations on a big screen.
ITV Controller of Entertainment John Kaye Cooper claimed the "popular" show would be a welcome addition to the Saturday night TV schedule.
He said: "We're delighted that this highly popular classic game show is returning to ITV and once again give viewers a chance to, 'Say what they see'."
Earlier this year Stephen was said to be "over the moon" he had been chosen to work on the pilot show.
A source said: " Stephen is over the moon that he is going to front the revival of such an iconic show. He feels he has worked his apprenticeship at ITV2 and has been rewarded with a fantastic opportunity. He can't wait to get started. He's really excited about it and has been watching old reruns."
Golden robot Mr Chips will also feature in the new series.
