Girls Aloud reuniting on Strictly
Girls Aloud are set to reunite on 'Strictly Come Dancing' later this year
Girls Aloud will perform on 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
Despite previously being a judge on rival show 'X Factor', Cheryl Cole has decided to return with her band on the BBC programme - on which bandmate Kimberley Walsh is starring - when they get back together later this year.
'X Factor' boss Simon Cowell had hoped to get her to return to the ITV show but she decided against it on the day of his 53rd birthday.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Simon was hoping for a happy birthday but all he got was bad news.
"It's an amazing slap in the face for Simon and proves the Cheryl really wants 'Strictly Come Dancing' to beat her old show."
Girls Aloud - made up of Cheryl, Kimberley, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Nadine Coyle - have been on an extended hiatus since 2009, but planned to get back together this year to celebrate 10 years in music.
While Cheryl has been a judge on 'X Factor' and released three albums, both Nadine and Nicola have released one, Kimberley has been presenting TV and appearing in the theatre and Sarah has turned to acting.
