Lisa Riley feels like a 'princess' on Strictly
'Strictly Come Dancing' star Lisa Riley says the show has given her a confidence boost and made her feel like a "princess"
Lisa Riley feels like a "princess" thanks to 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The bubbly brunette - who rose to fame playing loud-mouthed Mandy Dingle in 'Emmerdale' - says getting dolled up to perform on the BBC One ballroom dancing competition has given her a confidence boost after years of playing frumpy characters.
Lisa told The Sun newspaper: "I finally feel like a princess for the first time in my life. Nobody can explain how I feel right now. I spend my life playing mingers and all of a sudden I feel like I'm in 'Dynasty'.
"The glam squad make you feel like a million dollars and the response I've had has been overwhelming."
The former 'You've Been Framed' host was thrilled with the positive reaction from the judges and the audience on Saturday's live show (06.10.12) and intends to stay in the competition as long as possible to inspire fellow "big girls" to feel confident enough to take up dancing.
Lisa explained: "My fears have been conquered. I never thought I would get the reaction I did out there. If I can inspire one woman to get up and dance, then I've done my job
"To see Robin's reaction last night was priceless and I want to do him proud again. I'm not expecting the same scores.
"If I get four fives I will be happy but I won't lie - I would like more!"
