Simon Cowell is willing to spend £2 million getting Cheryl Cole back on 'X Factor'.
The show boss - who sensationally sacked Cheryl from the US version of the programme - wants the Girls Aloud singer and her manager will.i.am to help the show receive a new boost of viewers for the singing search show.
A show insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We need to do something dramatic and this be a coup. It would give us the best judging line-up in 'X Factor' history."
Black Eyed Peas star will is currently a judge on the UK version of 'The Voice' and is in line to return for its second season alongside Sir Tom Jones, Jessie J and Danny O'Donoghue next year.
Cheryl has already returned to 'X Factor' this year, helping chief judge Gary Barlow at the Judges' Houses stage of the competition with his Over 28s category.
The show is already believed to have attempted to entice former judge Dannii Minogue back this year, but negotiations faltered and Nicole Scherzinger was eventually selected as the new judge.
The first live show of 'X Factor' starts tonight (06.10.12).
