Louis Walsh is "quietly confident" a group could win 'The X Factor'.

The mentor believes his groups GMD3, MK1 and Union J - and wild card act Times Red - could be in with a shot of winning the show and is confident in all of the bands and their ability to work hard.

He told BANG Showbiz: "I'm really honest with the guys, I just tell them it's hard work and if they work hard, they'll get it. I'm quietly confident. I think there's a lot of competition. But I do think they are going to get a career like JLS or One Direction or Olly Murs. They're three people that didn't win but they are very successful."

Louis - who has only won 'X Factor' once before with Shayne Ward - is not strict with his acts and likes them to be able to do as they wish as they should know how hard they have to work.

He added: "No, I've not been strict at all. This is their chance to do something with their lives. I only open the door and it's up to them to do it.

"They have a good work ethic, this could change their lives. I want them to get a record deal, I want them to get work out of it. I want it to be a positive experience, and I'm just honest with them."
