Rob da Bank likes putting bands like Sister Sledge and Gallows on the same stage.

The DJ and curator of Bestival - held annually on the Isle of Wight - likes to show his eclectic taste by putting acts from different genres, such as the disco group and the hardcore punk band, on the same bill in order to challenge people.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "This year, we had things from Gallows to Sister Sledge on the same day, on the same stage. I think, to some people, that might be a step too far. I actually like that."

The 38-year-old admits that "it's not everyone's cup of tea," but argues Bestival's reputation rests on its "varied, eclectic bill."

Rob explained: "It's the sort of thing I do in a DJ set, so I like it."

Bestival marks its tenth anniversary next year, but Rob is undecided how to celebrate it.

He added: "On the one hand, an 18-year-old kid who might be thinking about coming to Bestival for the first time, probably doesn't really care that we're 10 years old. Actually, that might not be a great thing - it might sound like we're a bit old.

"On the other hand, I think we're going to do something special. Every year we do something special anyway. If people have any ideas, send us a postcard."

Bestival founder Rob Da Bank curated the vibrant soundtrack for the upcoming action racing game, Forza Horizon, out 26 October exclusively on Xbox 360.
