Tulisa Contostavlos' confidence tactic
Tulisa Contostavlos believes she can win 'X Factor' for a second year in a row by making sure her contestants are always "100 per cent confident" in what they are doing.
Tulisa Contostavlos' 'X Factor' "tactic" is to make sure her contestants are always "100 per cent" themselves.
The 'Young' singer is mentoring the Girls in this year's show and is keen to ensure Lucy Spraggan, Ella Henderson and Jade Ellis are not uncomfortable on the stage or behind the scenes as she believes that will help one of her acts win.
Speaking on 'Daybreak', she said: "I'm always saying to them to be themselves. One thing that I find as well as the most important point as a mentor is to make sure they are 100 per cent comfortable when they're on stage."
"So I think the biggest input that I have as a judge, my tactics are always to say, 'Are you comfortable?' From whether it's their song choice to the make-up they have on to what they're wearing - if they're not happy, they're not going to look happy and the audience are going to know that."
Tulisa's youngest contestant Ella, 16, has already claimed she feels like she has a strong connection with her mentor.
She said: "I was so happy when I found out she was our mentor as I felt a real connection with her.
"She says she loves what I've got already and doesn't want me to change. I really admire she's got such a new sound and she's so confident."
