Jessie J demanded The Voice be rescheduled
Jessie J asked the BBC to change the filming dates of 'The Voice' when she discovered they clashed with her tour.
Jessie J made BBC bosses reschedule 'The Voice'.
The 'Price Tag' singer's 2013 tour coincided with her mentoring duties on the second series of the singing competition, so she demanded the programme's filming dates be changed to avoid a clash.
Jessie said: "My tour dates and the dates of 'The Voice' clashed, so I said, 'I need to prioritise my tour and my fans.'
"I was really gutted so I called the head of the BBC and said,: 'Can we talk about this? I don't feel right.'
"I didn't want to miss out, so I sat with them and we looked at the dates and we jigged things around and I was then able to do it."
The 24-year-old star also slammed the practice of giving contestants' sob stories such a big importance on reality shows, and revealed she hopes 'The Voice' will focus purely on talent next year.
Speaking on 'Alan Carr Chatty Man', Jessie confessed: "I am not a major fan of the whole back story and 'let's all feel sorry for everyone'.
"It is a bit like, 'Been there, done that, seen that. Isn't it about the voice?' I might get in trouble for this..."
The pop singer came under fire for her diva behaviour during the first series, but Jessie admitted watching herself in action made her decide to revamp both her attitude and her style.
She explained: "I learned a lot about myself. Watching myself back, I am a bit irritating sometimes.
"The fringe decided to retire, too. I looked at a picture of myself and was like, 'You look a bit scary'. I was becoming a bit of a cartoon."
'Alan Carr Chatty Man' airs tonight (28.09.12) on Channel 4.
