Johnny Ball's Strictly partner injured
Johnny Ball's 'Strictly Come Dancing' partner, Aliona Vilani, has broken her leg in training for the show
Johnny Ball's 'Strictly Come Dancing' partner has broken her leg.
Aliona Vilani had been rehearsing with the former TV presenter for their debut on the show next Saturday (06.10.12), when she sustained a hairline fracture to the ankle.
The injury will put her out of the show for up to a month, and leaves bosses desperately searching for a new partner for Johnny.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "She let out a huge yelp and fell to the floor clutching her leg - which swelled up like a balloon.
"The on-site doctor looked at her, but she was still in loads of pain.
"She went to hospital where they found she had a fracture. Johnny is devastated."
Aliona, who is of Russian-Kazakh descent, tweeted a picture of her injury and wrote underneath: "Thank you all so much for your amazing messages of support!!!! I'm sure I'll recover soon (sic)."
The dancer is one of the most successful in the current line up, having won 'Strictly' in 2009 partnering presenter Rav Wilding. She finished runner up with Matt Baker in 2010, before winning last year's show with McFly star Harry Judd.
