Darcey Bussell goes weak at the knees for Len Goodman
Darcey Bussell says dancing with Len Goodman made her "knees tremble" and she felt like she was on a first date
Darcey Bussell says dancing with Len Goodman made her feel like she was on a first date.
The ballet dancer turned 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge had to run through some steps with the other panellists - Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel Horwood and Len - to promote the BBC One show, and says the old charmer was hands down her favourite.
She said: "Len Goodman makes my knees tremble. We filmed a trailer in which I had to dance with each of the judges, and although they were all good, Len was definitely my favourite.
"He is such a gentleman, so suave and yet with that cheeky glint in his eye. I had that feeling with him that you get on your first date, when he held me it felt like a bit of magic."
Darcey - who is married to Australian financier Angus Forbes - is also looking forward to seeing the contestants strut their stuff this weekend, in particular the Olympic athletes, such as cyclist Victoria Pendleton.
She added to You magazine: "I'm looking forward to seeing all the contestants perform, but I particularly love watching athletes such as Victoria Pendleton.
"Dancing and sport both require stamina, but dancing is also about the illusion, and for women there is the added complication of letting the guy take control. They need to hide that strength while also letting passion and personality shine through.
"As a judge, I am going to be looking not so much for expertise but for those who can listen to the music, work with it, and bring a little of themselves into their performance. I will be straight talking in giving them the advice they need to hear."
