The former 'Coronation Street' actress has struggled to find work since quitting the soap in February and she is now hoping for a comeback after agreeing to a deal to star in the 12th series of the ITV1 reality show.
A source said: "Helen was one of our top picks, gorgeous, funny and she will be a real hit with viewers."
ITV show chiefs are yet to confirm the lineup but the 22-year-old beauty is thought to be keen to return to the small screen after moving back to the north of England with her footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair.
A friend told the Daily Star newspaper: "The work she expected to roll in since February simply hasn't and she's worried the ambitions she had might now be wrecked.
"Helen decided to leave 'Corrie' because she had had enough and wanted to move on.
"Even if Scott wasn't on the scene, she would still have left - it had got to that point."
A number of stars have been linked to the next series of 'I'm A Celebrity' - which airs in November - including Chris Moyles and Tim Westwood after show's hosts Ant and Dec have revealed they would love to have the pair on the programme.
