'Corrie's Tina McIntyre will be left terrified after she backs out of a deal to be a surrogate mother.
The character - played by Michelle Keegan - tries to get out of a plan where she will have a child for Owen Armstrong's daughter Izzy (Cherylee Houston), but finds Owen (Ian Puleston-Davies) is not happy with her decision and threatens to hurt her boyfriend Tommy Duckworth (Chris Fountain).
She becomes so scared she changes her mind again and says she will do it.
Tommy, unaware she has gone back her promise not to do it, turns to Rita (Barbara Knox) for help.
He says: "The only drawback is we're going to have to pay Owen the money back and find somewhere else to live."
Rita herself stumps up the money, saying: "It's ridiculous, she's so young - you both are. You don't want to be messing up your life."
When Tommy eventually finds out she is going back to the clinic to have the baby, he is devastated.
A source added to the Daily Star newspaper: "Tina goes back to the clinic behind his back. He's distraught, but of course he doesn't know she's only doing it to protect him."
