A Play, A Pie and A Pint – free in Glasgow
Some of Scotland’s most deprived areas will get the chance to see a programme of plays for free as part of a new scheme.
Three plays in the A Play, A Pie and A Pint programme will be performed in Glasgow’s Easterhouse and Drumchapel, starring Libby McArthur and Dave Anderson.
The scheme has been sponsored by housing developers New City Vision (NCV), which is involved in the regeneration of Drumchapel.
Director of NCV, Bob Millar said: “To be able to take something which has been as successful as A Play, A Pie and A Pint to the areas in which we are driving regeneration and encouraging new residents is superb.
“This is the first step in an arts strategy which will see a wide variety of arts and cultural projects make their way out of the city centre and into the areas where NCV is making a difference with new housing.”
The programme of plays, which includes Ae Fond Kiss, GBH and Tir Nan Og, will continue throughout September and is free to local residents.
